Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Chottu is a personal assistant you chat with on WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram. It is run by TinyHuman Intelligence Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Chottu or chottu.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we use what you send Chottu to do what you ask. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your messaging account: the phone number or account id the messaging app gives us, and the display name on it.
- What you send Chottu: text, voice notes (which we transcribe), photos, documents, stickers and reactions, and the replies Chottu sends back.
- What Chottu remembers to help you: preferences and details you share, such as the name you want to be called, your language, your time zone, or a delivery address.
- Reminders and schedules you ask Chottu to keep.
- Apps you connect, such as your email or calendar: Chottu reads from or acts in them only when you connect them, and only for what you ask.
- Orders you place through Chottu: what you asked for, the shop, the delivery details the shop needs, and the order status. Payments are made through our payment partner; we do not see or store your card or bank details.
- Invites: the invite code you used, who invited you, and the invites you share.
- The waitlist on chottu.com: your name and email address.
- Technical data: when messages arrived and were answered, delivery receipts, error reports, and the cookies that keep you signed in on app.chottu.com.
How we use it
- To understand your messages and reply to them, and to carry out what you ask, such as setting a reminder, finding an answer or placing an order.
- To remember context between conversations, so you do not have to repeat yourself.
- To send you what you asked to receive, such as a reminder when it is due or an update on an order.
- To keep Chottu safe and working: preventing abuse, limiting misuse, and finding and fixing errors.
- To tell you about changes to Chottu or these policies.
Chottu replies to people who message it. We do not send marketing messages, and we do not message anyone who has not written to Chottu first.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its part, and only for running Chottu:
- AI model providers, which read your message and its context to write Chottu's reply.
- Speech services, which turn voice notes into text and Chottu's replies into voice notes.
- Hosting, database and monitoring providers, which store Chottu's data and help us find errors.
- The connected-app service that links your apps to Chottu, when you connect one.
- Our shopping and payment partners, and the shop or delivery partner fulfilling your order: only the details that order needs.
- WhatsApp (Meta), Instagram (Meta) and Telegram, which carry your messages. Their own privacy policies apply to what they handle.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the safety of people or of Chottu, or to a company that takes over Chottu, which would remain bound by this policy.
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for advertising.
Apps you connect
When you connect an app such as Gmail or Google Calendar, Chottu uses that access only to do what you ask, or what you turned on, such as a brief before a meeting. You can ask Chottu to disconnect an app at any time.
Chottu's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use data from Google for advertising and do not let people read it except with your permission, for security, or as the law requires.
How we protect it
Each person's conversations, memory and settings are kept apart from everyone else's, under a random internal id rather than your phone number. Phone numbers and account ids are replaced by one-way hashes in our logs. Data is encrypted in transit, and links Chottu sends you are sealed so only you can open them.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use Chottu. When you ask us to delete it, we delete your conversations, memory, settings and connected apps within 30 days, except for records the law requires us to keep, such as order and payment records.

Where it is processed
Chottu is made for people in India. Some of the services we use run in other countries, including the United States, so your data may be processed there, under the safeguards in this policy.
